Recognising Depression in Older People – Infographic

You might not know it – indeed, they might not even know it themselves – but you could have an elderly patient who suffers from depression and carries that burden through every day. It can easily happen that a senior citizen is depressed but this goes unnoticed even by family members. Perhaps other people are oblivious to the senior’s suffering but it’s also possible that the victim is deliberately concealing their anguish for fear of upsetting their relatives.



Sometimes, though, they might be expressive about their feelings if we encourage them to talk and spend time with them. A collaborative effort with a depression treatment centers could help them to lay their cards on the table and prompt a strategy to win the battle against depression.
